Cars are noisy machines. Even the quietest electric car still has it’s own symphony of unique sounds it makes on the road. Most of these sounds are fine, and as the driver you should be used to the normal hums, squeaks and creaks of your vehicle. But then there are the sounds you don’t expect:
* That “sssssssssssssssss” coming from under the hood of your vehicle? Could be nothing, but then again, could be a vacuum leak.
* The “EEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeEE” from the wheels when you put on the brakes? Could be an issue, or simply a squeaky disc brake.
* Hopefully not the dreaded “CHUNKACHUNKACHUNCK” when going around a corner. Better take it in. Stat.
Whatever the sound, the main question to ask yourself is: is this normal? Sure, there’s a “thudthudthudthud” coming from the trunk, but you know you forgot a soccer ball in there last month. But that “clangclangcathunk” coming from under the hood? That’s different, and should get checked out. As a driver, it’s your job to be in tune with your car. Then it’s our job to analyze the issue, fix it and get your car running again at peak performance.
